How to recharge mobile phones using SBI Online Internet Banking
Step 1: Visit SBI Online Internet Banking website – onlinesbi.com
The SBI Online portal is not just a place where you can do internet banking, but it also has a lot of things which not many netbanking services support. There are a lot of restrictions, like the UI isn’t user friendly, but it does all the tasks for which it was established.
Step 2: Login to Account (Guide to Login – Personal Banking)
Over there, there would be two boxes, the left box would read ‘Personal Banking’. It would feature two options – Login or Login Lite. Choose Login if you are on a faster internet connection, and Login Lite if you are on a slow connection or mobile. For this demonstrations sake, we would choose Login.
Step 3: Enter the Login details and Login to SBI Online
Enter your SBI Online Internet Banking username and password, and click on continue.
Step 4: Navigate to Bill Payments
Once you have logged in successfully, click on the link that says ‘Bill Payments’.
Step 6: Click on TopUp Recharge, Select the Carrier, Enter Mobile Number, Amount & Submit
On the left-hand side, you will be able to see a lot of options, Click on the TopUp Recharge option. The TopUp Recharge is for recharging your mobile number. By default, this option will bring in front the Mobile TopUp area.
- Select your carrier from the Service provider list. The SBI supports most of the commonly used service providers like Vodafone, Tata Docomo, BSNL, Idea, Loop Mobile, Aircel, Tata CDM, Virgin Mobile, Airtel, Videocon, Uninor, Reliance GSM, Reliance CDMA, MTS etc.
- Enter your 10 Digit mobile number (Make sure that the digits aren’t wrong)
- Enter the TopUp Amount (The amount for which you want to do a recharge)
- Click on Submit
The sad thing about this wonderful functionality provided by SBI is, it doesn’t show all the plans available for a particular cellular carrier. So this acts as a limitation and one reason why people don’t prefer using SBI Online for recharging their mobile numbers, because apps like Freecharge, PayTM, Mobikwik not only allows recharging our mobile phone, but they also help us in knowing the plans, so we can recharge our mobile number accordingly.
